This is called Cattle Egret in the Kennedy Guide. In Europe this is called a heron and not an Egret. In the second edition of Collins Bird Guide to Birds of Britain and Europe he calls this bird a small heron.
It has a light pinkish orange color when in breeding plumage.In non-breeding plumage it is all white with a thick yellow orange bill. Yellow eyes and dark grey to greenish yellow legs. It eats insects and follows cattle around to get the bugs disturbed from the footsteps of the cattle.
