This is a Philippine endemic. Prop Gerry of the Wild Bird Club was the one who "discovered" this bird nesting right beside the driveway of a hostel in Makiling. We went there to take a peek at it. We saw it feeding its chicks. First, one parent would be sitting in the nest with the chicks hidden. Then, the second parent would fly into the nest and take the place of the first parent. The second parent would immediately start stuffing the mouths of the suddenly visible chicks with food.
