This is a common Philippine resident. From the Kennedy guide: "... races differ in size, color , and /or amount of barring on rump and underparts. Male ranges from all grey underparts in difficilis, striata, guillemardi, mindorensis, and cebuensis to grey throat and breast with black and white barred bellies in boholensis, kochii, and panayensis."
