I first saw this bird in Canyon Woods in November 2008. Tonji saw it in Makiling in December. We have since seen them all over and in different elevations including Mt. Kitanglad in Mindanao as well as sea level in Mindoro. It is the most common of the little brown migrating flycatchers.
This bird likes to go back to the same perch while looking for bugs to eat. It makes it easy to spot. The very distinctive streaks makes it one of the easiest Flycatchers to ID.
