Ficedula luzoniensis
Family Muscicapidae
endemic
L 114 mm (4 1/2")
Bird # 478 - April 2015
This species was split from Snowy-browed Flycatcher Ficedula hyperythra. In the Kennedy guide, Snowy-browed Flycatcher is described as looking similar to the Cryptic and Furtive Flycatchers. We mistook it for a Cryptic Flycatcher when we first saw it. It is also described as "solitary and secretive in montane forest above 1000m in the understory".
