White Browed Shama
WHITE BROWED SHAMA
Copsychus luzoniensis
Turdidae Family
Bird #148 - April 2009
This is a Philippine endemic. It is has a very beautiful and melodious song. The first time we saw it in 2009 we had a hard time pinpointing where it was even after hearing it singing loudly. Then, even after Des pointed it out and focused the scope on it, we STILL had a hard time seeing it!
In Polillio Island this bird is easier to see. Otherwise it has always been a challenge to get a nice clean view because it likes to hide behind leaves and brances.
It has not been an easy bird to photograph. Our last encounter in Subic in 2013 yielded good results.
