In the Kennedy guide, this bird is recorded as an "accidental". However, we were able to confirm reports of their presence in the Pampanga portion of Manila Bay. Other groups from the Wild Bird Club also saw them in subsequent trips to the area.
We saw the birds from a banca before sunrise. They were flying very low, almost touching the water. They were headed towards Orani, Bataan. Later that day, we saw several more mixed in with the Black-headed gulls.
