This is called Rufous-bellied Eagle Hieraaetus kienerii in the Kennedy guide. This is an uncommon resident bird. It is about 40" long. It has a crest. The individual in these photos is an immature.
It is always a treat to see a raptor. This one flew over us and then landed on a nearby tree while we were taking pictures of a Spotted Wood Kingfisher!
Desmond Allen said of the immature "note especially the fine toes, the tiny bill, the dark eye patch" and "The head shape of the RBE is quite different too - more of a forehead and less of a 'jaw''
