The Japanese Leaf Warblers were in the same area as the Arctic Warblers. From our initial encounter, it seemed like they stayed more concelead and less out in the open than the Arctic Warblers.
In the 2013 WBCP Checklist which is based on the IOC checklist, the Arctic Warbler was split into three: Arctic Warbler Phylloscopus borealis , Kamchatka Leaf Warbler Phylloscopus examinandus and Japanese Leaf Warbler Phylloscopus xanthodryas.
