This is a common Philippine endemic. It is described in the Kennedy guide as "besides Mountain Leaf-Warbler ... only warbler in Philippines with a yellow throat". This bird is easily confused with the similar looking Arctic Warbler that also sometimes has a yellowish wash to its undersides.
This bird was photographed in Twin Lakes, Negros Oriental at 900 meters. The bill, upper is dark horn ang lower light orange. The three photos show how the bird color looks different depending on the quality of the light, clouds, shade and the reflection of the leaves.
It was part of a mixed flock.
This race cebuensis has lighter uppers than the two other races of this species.
