This bird is a Philippine endemic. It is around 8" long. It has many different kinds of loud, musical calls. Some taxonomists treat the White-Lored Oriole as a race of the Philippine Oriole, Oriolus steeri albiloris. There are 6 races of Philippine Oriole. The other races do not have white lores. Other taxonomists treat the albiloris race as a separate species, calling it the White-Lored Oriole Oriolus albiloris. In the upated WBCP checklist which generally follows IOC v3.5, it is treated as a separate species.
