Tonji says he saw this in our backyard. I heard them, but didn't really see them until we went to Mt. Kitanglad. The pictures are from February 2009 in UP (University of Philippines), Diliman where they were hanging out on an African Tulip tree.
The Kennedy field guide calls this bird Colasisi but Tim Fisher calls this bird Philippine Hanging Parrot.
Since our first encounter we have seen this common bird quite often in Luzon and Mindanao. It is always a treat to get to view this colorful endemic.
