This is an uncommon resident. It is a big dove, measuring about 12 1/4" long. It looks very similar to a Red Turtle Dove. According to JP, these doves were very heavily hunted before, causing their numbers to dwindle tremendously. He thinks that their numbers are increasing in Candaba.
