This bird is listed in the Kennedy guide as being a rare migrant with only 3 records in the Philippines. We made a special trip to Candaba to see it after Doc Chito posted pictures of it in the PBPF. It was surprisingly easy to see for a rare bird since it is quite large at 13 1/2 inches and it stayed in the open in the same area where it was first seen.
