This bird is about 14" long. It is an uncommon migrant. It has a two-toned upturned bill. We saw many of these birds in Olango. A few of them were in breeding plumage.

This bird has “black over white” leg flags. This indicates that the bird was bird was  flagged at Chongming Dao, China after April 2006.
