This is a small, colorful, fast-moving bird with a loud call. We usually see it at the tops of flowering trees. It is about 4 1/2 " long.
There Olive Backed sunbirds in Palawan are the aurora race. They have orange below the chest, while the ones outside Palawan have yellow below the chest.

on May 14, 2011I saw a bird similar to this though I'm not so sure if it is what it is but I'm definite its a kind of flowerpecker. Was surprised to see one on a busy Mandaluyong Rotunda flying from one yellow bell tree to another dotting the street islands.
