We first saw this tiny yellow bird in Mt. Kitanglad. It is a Philippine endemic.

There are 9 races of this bird. We have seen montigenus in Sierra Madre in Nueva Ecija, elegans in Cavite, mindanensis in Mt. Kitanglad, albescens in Negros.
