Chestnut-Faced Babbler
CHESTNUT-FACED BABBLER
Stachyris whiteheadi
Family Timaliidae
Bird #228 - January 2010
This is a common endemic. It is 5 3/4" long and is described as "gregarious" in the Kennedy guide. We saw several of them during our Mountain Province vacation. We first saw one on the road on the way from Mt. Data to Sagada, then we also saw them in Sagada when we went to Lake Danum.
This particular individual in the photo sat out in the open for a long time. The others that we saw were hidden inside the bushes.
