This is called Pygmy Babbler in the Kennedy guide. There are two races of Pygmy Babbler and they have been split. The pygmaea found in Leyte and Samar is now Visayan Pygmy Babbler and plateni found in Mindanao is now Mindanao Pygmy Babbler .
In the Visayan Pygmy Babbler the crown and hind neck are olive brown and the throat and upper breast are grey with no complete hood unlike the Mindanao Pygmy Babbler.
